The over use of electronic smart devices by today’s youthful iGen appears to be having an alarming impact on their mental health.
That’s the inescapable conclusion of local psychology professor and researcher Jean Twenge.
“When I first saw the data, I thought maybe it’s a blip,” said Twenge, who lectures throughout the country and teaches at San Diego State University. But the data, much of it from U.S. government-funded studies, show that mood disorders among adolescents have increased year after year since 2011.
